INVENTORS AND STARTUPS / MANUFACTURABILITY

Designed to build at scale from day one.

Most prototypes get redesigned the day they meet a real manufacturer. Yours will not. The DFM review our Tier 1 automotive and defense programs get starts on your first sketch.

WHAT MANUFACTURABILITY MEANS HERE

DFM is a discipline, not a checkbox at the end.

An invention that works on the bench and an invention that can be built ten thousand times at a price the market accepts are two different designs. We do the second one from the start, so nothing gets thrown away when you find a manufacturer.

DFM FROM SKETCH ONE

Draft angles, tolerance stacks, material selection.

Before the first CAD model exists, we look at how the part will release from a mold, where the tolerances stack, and whether the material you have in mind survives the process that will make it. Fixing these on paper costs an hour. Fixing them after tooling costs a program.

SAME PROCESS AS TIER 1

One review discipline for every customer.

The engineers on your program design production parts for Nissan, LEAR, Magna, Oshkosh Defense, and 3M. When the customer is a solo inventor, the design review does not get a lighter version. Same checklists, same GD&T standards, same simulation tools, same sign-off.

SUPPLIER-READY HAND-OFF

A release package a supplier can quote from.

At end of program you receive released drawings with GD&T, full CAD, material and finish callouts, and inspection documentation. If your production buyer requires PPAP, we support it. A supplier can build from the package without calling us first.

HOW A MANUFACTURABILITY PROGRAM RUNS

Sketch to release drawings.

Four phases. Same sequence the OEM programs run, sized for one part and one inventor.

Sketch review

NDA first. We review your sketch or napkin drawing for feasibility, process fit, and rough cost before any CAD is drawn.

CAD + DFM

Full CAD in SolidWorks, NX, Creo, or CATIA. Draft, wall sections, tolerance stacks, and material selection reviewed against the target process.

Prototype validation

Working prototypes on our floor in FDM, SLA, SLS, urethane casting, or CNC. Iterate against the requirement, not against opinions.

Release drawings

Released drawing package with GD&T, inspection documentation, and PPAP support if your production supplier requires it.

WHY THIS IS DIFFERENT

Most inventor prototypes are dead ends. Ours are drawings a supplier can quote.

Here is what usually happens. An inventor pays a prototyping firm, gets a part that looks right, takes it to a contract manufacturer, and hears that the wall sections are wrong, the material will not mold, and the tolerances cannot be held. The design starts over, and the first check bought a demonstration piece, not a product. That failure mode is what this service exists to remove.

We remove it by refusing to separate design from manufacturability. The same engineers who carry production parts through Tier 1 automotive and defense reviews apply the same discipline to your part, and every decision is documented in the release package you own. Engagement is fixed-fee where scope is clear, time and materials where the work is exploratory, or a hybrid. First conversation is free. Mechanical only, no electrical, no PCB, no firmware, no software.

TALK TO AN ENGINEER

Tell us what you are building.

Send the program brief. An engineer on our team will read it and respond within one business day. Not a sales coordinator. Not a routing form.

Response
