ADAPT is a mechanical engineering practice, not a contract manufacturer. We design and analyze physical products across the full development lifecycle, from initial concept through production release. Our team signs an NDA before substantive disclosure, ours or yours. For enterprise and program teams, we contract through MSA and SOW on customer or ADAPT paper. Fixed-fee or T&M scope. Two to four week placement for contract engineers on CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, Creo, and Inventor.

Automotive

Class A surfacing in CATIA ICEM and Alias. CATIA V5/V6 and NX design. Crash, structural, and NVH simulation. PPAP-format dimensional reports. PLM environment fluency on OEM and Tier 1 systems.

Aerospace

Structural analysis on composite and aluminum airframe components. AS9102 first article inspection. CATIA V5/V6 design and CATIA staff augmentation. Reverse engineering of legacy hardware with 0.002 inch tolerance recovery. ITAR-aware processes.

Defense

Heavy Truck and Equipment

Chassis structural design and FEA. Cab structure NVH. Suspension and frame fatigue. Low-volume specialty vehicle programs including mail trucks, military transport, mobility conversions, and Class 8 derivatives. Reverse engineering of legacy hardware with no drawings.

Customers include Oshkosh and Bestop.

Medical Devices

External mechanical devices. No implants. Mechanical design, simulation, and prototyping aligned to ISO 9001:2015 quality requirements.

Customers include Warrior NP and BaxMAX.

Consumer Products

Industrial design and CAID through Class A surface modeling in CATIA ICEM and Alias. DFM for injection mold programs, certified Moldflow. Photorealistic visualization. Prototyping through supplier qualification.

Customers include McDonald’s, 3M, Fox Racing Shox, Avalon Pontoons, and Luma Solar.

Tooling and Automation

We design fixtures, gauges, and end-of-arm tooling. Stamping and injection mold program support. DFM and DFA for high-volume parts. High-cycle fatigue analysis on tools and dies.

Customers include ZEISS, Hitachi Cable America, Minth Group, and HUF Group.

Independent Inventors and Startups

Concept to manufacturable design. CAD and drawings your patent attorney can use. Mutual NDA on day one, ours or yours. You own all deliverables. We work with non-engineer founders and help qualify a manufacturer when the design is ready. No minimum engagement size.

Customers include Warrior NP and Luma Solar.

Design

Mechanical CAD across CATIA V5/V6, NX, SolidWorks, Creo, and Inventor. Industrial design, Class A surfacing in CATIA ICEM and Alias, GD&T to ASME Y14.5, release drawings. PLM environment fluency on customer systems.

Simulation

Structural, thermal, NVH, crash, and CFD analysis. ANSYS, Abaqus, LS-DYNA, certified Moldflow. Used to validate designs before physical test and to recover programs where physical results missed targets.

Metrology

Laser scanning, CMM inspection, and reverse engineering. PPAP dimensional reports, AS9102 first article inspection, mold and die inspection, on-site scanning of large hardware. Recovers legacy parts that have no digital data.

Manufacturing & Prototyping

Rapid prototypes, soft tooling, and short-run production parts. CNC, urethane casting, sheet metal, and additive. Used for design verification, fit checks, and pre-production validation.

On-Demand Additive Manufacturing

FDM, SLA, SLS, and material jetting. Run at Auburn Hills and through vetted additive partners. Used for prototypes, design verification builds, fixture components, and low-volume end-use parts where tooling is not justified.

Technical Resources

Contract engineers placed on customer programs and customer platforms. CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor. Pre-screened for PLM fluency. Two to four week placement on most platforms.

Turnkey Product Development

Concept through production release. One SOW, one project lead, accountable for the full development scope. Used by founders without an engineering team and by enterprise programs that need a single contracting path.
